School Support Services

We provide support for students in years K-12 with hearing and vision loss in their mainstream independent schools. Our teachers are trained educational specialists in deaf/hard of hearing or blind/low vision and provide support including:

  • Regular classroom visits
  • Assessment and guidance on aids and assistive technologies
  • Training and development for mainstream teachers so they can better work with children in the classroom
  • Adapting learning materials and classrooms into accessible formats

Deaf or Hard of Hearing Support Services

Partnering with us provides access to qualified Teachers of the Deaf, tailored service options and support in building an inclusive classroom.

We offer three packages providing different levels of support:

Foundation support: Ideal for students with mild hearing loss or established communication strategies.

Core support: Students requiring consistent support and liaison.

Intensive support: Students with significant needs or new to school.

Schools may also add optional services:

  • Professional learning sessions: Whole-staff training on hearing loss and inclusive practices.
  • Transition support: Tailored planning for key school transitions.
  • Specialist assessments: Functional listening, language or communication assessments.
  • Remote support: Online sessions for regional or remote schools.

Blind or Low Vision Support Services

Partnering with us provides access to qualified Teachers of Students with Vision Impairment with specialist expertise.

Our consultant teachers support schools, families and students to:

  • adapt learning materials and teaching strategies
  • advise on assistive technology
  • develop individual learning, mobility and orientation plans
  • provide specialist education and vision support

There are three levels of support available:

Foundation support: Students with mild visual impairment or established strategies.

Core support: Students requiring ongoing educational and vision support.

Intensive support: Students with significant vision impairment or complex learning needs.

Accessibility Resource Packages

We provide tailored services to create accessible learning resources for students who are blind or have low vision. All resources can be delivered in braille, large print, accessible eText and tactile formats.

Foundation package: Schools beginning to provide accessible materials for students who are blind or have low vision, or for individual subjects.

Core package: Schools requiring regular accessible materials across subjects.

Intensive package: Schools needing frequent, high-volume, or complex resource production.
